I hate Windows.

Windows is being an uncooperative bleargh. PUT MEH IN TEH FIRST PARTITION!!! it says.

So I wriggle all the filesystems around and put them on different partition. Turns out, I have to rewrite the bloody partition table, and that didn’t happen, so my first partition is STILL NTFS even though it’s FAT32 now.

And alas, I discovered how to use CFLAGS. I added -pipe and -Os.

I also printed out a reference to all of those wonderful keyboard shortcuts for nano.

Gogo increased productivity (except when Windows is concerned).

Google is much more dangerous to Microsoft than Netscape was. Probably more dangerous than any other company has ever been. Not least because they’re determined to fight. On their job listing page, they say that one of their “core values” is “Don’t be evil.” From a company selling soybean oil or mining equipment, such a statement would merely be eccentric. But I think all of us in the computer world recognize who that is a declaration of war on.

So it's an hour or two before I go for registration. This is who I want on my timetable:

Music – Moroz/Bain/whatever she wants to be called this year. Not much choice, but as long as she doesn't leave or anything, I think we're fine.
English – ??
Classic Civ – Cohen. I hope he didn't con us into taking this and it's not him teaching it.
Math – ??
Physics – Phoenix. teaches good.
Chem – ??
Comp Sci – Someone competent
Psych – Forget. easy.

No. Actually, I'm not.

I'm still half sick. I don't know what from. Stupid throat.

Stupid mind block in making slideshows for tomorrow. Agh, well, I'll deal with it soon enough.

Why is it that Photoshop runs fine in VMware but NetMD is utter crap? It still boggles the mind. Must be that stupid encryption Sony uses on their *.omg files. Well guess what Sony: THE OSS COMMUNITY WILL CRACK YOUR BLOODY ENCRYPTION, THEN ATRAC WILL BE FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! They've done it before, and they'll do it again. And then you'll kick yourself in the pants for not embracing us earlier, you stupid high and mighty Japanese megacorp.

Rule #1 I've learned when buying peripherals: Asian companies have usually suck immensely when it comes to Linux support. Unfortunately. When oh when will our bretheren on the other side of the Pacific learn?

I don't understand why there's this paranoia with buying stuff online, especially ebay. Well, screw you scammers, you've caused me to not be able to get a Xitel MD-Port DG2, which would have given me 1:1 recordings on my NetMD. But because of your craptacular ways, scamming people and generally creating distrust of the online marketplace, my parents won't buy anything online, much less from ebay. I hope you all get more P-P-P-Powerbook!'s.
