GNU
Lately, I've been reading up on Free Software. As you all know I'm a crazy Linux user. Being a Linux user is enlightening. You suddenly learn that viruses, crashes, and a reboot a day are not normal. Another thing you learn is that a lot of commercial software (Office/Windows) is overrated and overpriced. There are exceptions to that, of course (Photoshop).
Another thing that you learn about is Freedom. I'm not talking about stupid ZOMG I M FREE FROM TEH M$ ROFFLE. I'm talking about what the FSF calls the four freedoms of software: the freedom to run, study, distribute, and change/improve the software. Once you understand this, your perspective on software changes and how using proprietary software promotes Bad Things.
I think Richard Stallman is on to something, and at the same time, he comes off as a crackpot.
The Right to Read
He had to help her–but if he lent her his computer, she might read his books. Aside from the fact that you could go to prison for many years for letting someone else read your books, the very idea shocked him at first. Like everyone, he had been taught since elementary school that sharing books was nasty and wrong–something that only pirates would do.

That ridiculous Sindarin patois.
Morithron = morn + ithron
morn = black
ithron = wizard
Morithron = black wizard
wizard = mage
Morithron = black mage
Morithron = blkmage
Ash nazg durbatulúk.
I think I'm going to learn how to write in Tengwar and how to speak Sindarin.
