Fishing

Caught myself a bass on Saturday. I am now the 20938752th person to have used that joke. Black Squier Affinity Series P-Bass and amp

Our story begins when we decided to go to Long and McQuade in Scarborough. Being armed with information that was two weeks old, we went and asked for a Squier Bass Pack. They didn’t have any. They did mention that there were some at their location at Steeles and Keele. We decided that after we went to Oriole Park, we’d be on our way there.

I swear Keele on the 401 was much much closer than it was then. I thought it was right after Leslie. Guess I’m wrong. Steeles was pretty far up there too. On our way, we passed by York University and I promptly decided that it’d be much more of a hassle to go to York than some other university simply because it is situated much like L’Amoreaux Collegiate: in the middle of nowhere, next to a bunch of power lines.

Once we reached the Long and McQuade that received quite a lot of business for being in the middle of nowhere, we immediately saw the bass packs. Of course, being parents, they saw the Strat packs beside it were what we were looking for. After a minute of convincing them that I knew what I was looking for, a salesperson opened up a black one and plugged it into the amp for me to pluck at. After a few minutes of that not really knowing what to do with it, we put it back in the box and pushed it over to the cashier.

We went outside with the bass pack, and there still wasn’t anything in the area, so we drove a long way back to Scarborough.

I’ve learned a few things in the past few days, but I predict that I will continue to suck and will require external forces to guide me in the way of the bass. I’ve managed to figure out how to read some stuff, but my mortal fingers are holding me back from sounding good so far.

It was just under $500 with tax for the pack, which includes the bass, an amp, cable, strap, headphones, instructional video, and gig bag.

That’s an iMac poster. Like, the first iMacs. Anyway, if you replace it with a pear, you can be kinda like Izzy from Digimon, with his pineapple laptop.
