Birds of a Feather

Yes, it’s about school again. Today I would like to take a look at two of our school’s departments, specifcally the physics and chem departments. I’ve noticed that there are certain qualities that the teachers of each department exhibits. It’s like some departmental groupthink going on.

The most obvious departmental quirk lies within the physics department. I’m not sure if it’s an actual department, but the point still stands. In algeo today, there were people complaining about how Ouzanova can’t speak English. Then the horror dawned on us. Neither could Nguyen. Either way, the physics students were stuck with someone who made it painfully obvious that English was their second language. We have Ouzanova with a thick accent of some European descent and we only have to walk through the physics office to find Nguyen, saying things like “if I fire a shell at your house, that is ground to ground!!” in an equally thick accent of Vietnamese descent.

The next department is the chem department. At first glance, they’re not that weird. That’s until you go into chem. The wonderful thing about chem is that they all lie, but they’re wonderful storytellers. If it’s not telling us that it’s a formal lab but, not really because I never said that or titration lab last class or you’re all screwed, but not really suckers, it’s stuff about the crazy things they do in their spare time like DJ or crazy stuff they did back in their crazy student days.

For those of you taking physics or chem at West Hill, don’t worry about who you’re going to get, because there really is no right answer.
