Blippity Blip
You know what would be interesting? Some DJ equipment (and someone to operate it) for worship. Think about it, it’d be like having another instrument to work with. You could use it to add to whatever the worship team would normally play. It could be little things like those electronic blips from Here Is Our King. Or, you could use it on its own, a la Andy Hunter. Think of the possiblities. All we need is equipment and someone with the skills, whether to serve or to train someone to serve. Mmm, electronic sounds for worship.

Agree: it’d be cool
Disagree: Does this further enhance one’s will to worship, or just make it cooler?
Etc: Hello synthesizers. Can get rid of drummers if we get a synth…like what happened to Whence He Came when they were at a Live and their drummer couldn’t make it- they recorded the drum part on a synth and looped it during the Live. Sounded better than the “with drums” version.
Hah, I tried to avoid using “cool” to describe it.
I thought about whether or not it’d just be cool before writing this, but then I realized it’s just another instrument. Then I asked if guitar or piano enhances worship or just makes it cooler.
I guess it’s the same as some church a decade or two ago asking if guitar was just cool or if it adds to the music.
dj stuff is cool.. but with worship?
I say “cool” enhances worship.
why? – it brings a new spin on how we sing a song, using a new instrament — synthesizer in this case is just like we’ve all been singing “The Heart Of Worship” (or some overplayed song) and oh suddenly someone decides to worship God by harmonizing — is it ‘destracting’ ? at first maybe — but it opens a whole new level of worship (singing praise in this context) sure ppl might not be used to it at first — but thats cause we’re so fixated on to one thing — really it opens to — you can worship anyway you want, any style — yet you’re still in the Body of Christ worshipping teh same God :)
Other speel… its a large investment that could better be used elsewhere — since what we have is sufficient, and what other places have… isn’t.
then if you really wanted coolness, why not invest several hundred dollars in effect pedals for the guitars AND authorize dozens of guitar solos?
