Now that my site has grown, I think it’s time to have a look at the statistics again. In the months past, much has changed on my site. I started commenting on other peoples’ blogs. By that I mean people that I don’t know, like on hicksdesign, Garrett Dimon, or SonSpring. That helps because my comment has a link back to my site. The other thing that changed is that my site is getting a lot more hits from search engines now that it’s on the radar at Google.

So I’ve hit 300 in unique visitors this month. I’ve got a nice number of visitors from other countries and one FreeBSD user. Canada, Firefox, and Linux numbers are inflated because of my refreshing to test out the new CSS and plugins. Lots more people are going in through Google. And commenting is an excellent way to garner some hits, since people are sometimes intrigued by a comment you leave and go to hit your site. Also, Technorati works, since a few people are going in from there for a variety of searches and tags.

Time for the fun part. Search terms. These are what people were searching for on Google and somehow ended up on my site.

There’s ‘medieval catapults.’ This tells me that heading tags, like h2 work. There’s also ‘timothy ng,’ which must be those people I told that my site is first and they went to check it out. ‘kat thompson’ is because Cat ended up on the front page for recent comments and I mentioned Jack Thompson.

There’s some gundam stuff, namely zgmf x42s, which is the Destiny GundamWhich, to my delight, got pwnt by I-Justice in Final Phase of Gundam SEED Destiny.. There’s also some University Fair stuff. Actually, I’m third for ‘university fair union station.’ A lot of people looking for Whole World in His Hands by Tim Hughes. Also a lot of Jack Thompson stuff. There’s some font stuff, like Garamond opentype and verdana vs trebuchet.

Someone looking for SoleDrive also found me. I’m also the fortieth hit for ‘tdsb’ with my recent post. I am also high up for ‘squier affinity strat pak long and mcquade’ which is funny because I was looking for a bass.

The most hilarious search though, was ‘hottest things with nothing on.’ The funny thing is that all of those words never appear in the same post together. Google picked up the McMaster post, the fonts and slides post, and the Hot Coffee post.

It feels nice to have my site come up for random searches. It means that my site is doing its job.
