I’m sure we’ve all heard enough about how our culture is making our generation stupider and how video games, TV, movies, and the many Internets are destroying our brains. Actually, when I was typing that up, West Hill’s brilliant new reading program popped into my mind. It’s almost as if they felt the need to save us from our own idiocy and make us read to offset the technology around us that is making our minds degenerate and our souls depraved. (more…)

The TDSB Bloody Sucks 2

Outside of West Hill, as you drive up and enter the parking lot, you’ll notice a sign that says “Facility Renewal Project” and it’s by the TDSB and something about investing in childrens’ futures. When we all noticed it, I’m sure we all thought “About frigging time.” I swear, the place is falling apart. The futile attempts at making the place look better last year failed. Nothing looks uniform, there are nasty brown patches everywhere, and there were holes or things crumbling all over the place. (more…)

The Art of Buffet Eating

Eating at buffets is always fun. There is an endless amount of food and quite a nice amount of combination and variety, even at the smallest. There are also those unique things that each place tries to do differently to set themselves apart. And who can forget the social setting? The friendly competition, measured in plates, is always nice. Buffets are a wonderful place to have a nice little social gathering. (more…)

So I want to get into Software Engineering because I really like computers. Basically, the train of thought goes, I like computers to I like math to I like messing around with really theoretical concepts so therefore I should like computer science because it’s all three put together and software engineering is computer science plus engineering principles, so I can also be called an engineer now, too!
