Oh look, it’s life
It’s been a while since I served up a typical ‘here’s what’s been going on in my life’ sort of post. I don’t really find those things that interesting and I’m sure some people will find my life particularly dull. Ah well, don’t look, but here comes my life from the past few weeks.
I think this is the first time I was really, really looking forward to the Christmas break. As I have mentioned before, Grade 12 sucks. The only reason it sucks is because I am trying. If I didn’t really care, I could lie back and sleep without worry about universities, because it’s all in the bag. Of course, I didn’t.
I am sort of glad that I don’t have to be caught up in this crazed frenzy for January marks since the university I want to get into probably won’t do anything until June and the other universities will most assuredly give me early acceptances even if I stop doing anything for the next few months.
So yes, the holidays were quite relaxing and gave me a chance to not do any work. I had a lot of wonderful food (there’s a post in the oven about this, so watch out) and got much money.
I would like to mention that the unfathomable riches that I hear most other Chinese kids getting, which is somewhere in the range of $200 for a grandparent and over $100 for each sibling of your parents, has not been seen by me. Usually, I see about $100. This year, I got over $100. Quite a boost.
So I used this money to actually buy something, rather than horde it and ask my parents for more money like my sibling, and I got myself The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Despite the outcry of ‘Celda’ across the Internet when it was revealed, I must say that it is one of the most beautiful games ever. The graphics are absolutely stunning and while they’re not realistic, the world certainly has a living quality to it. Also, the gameplay is unmatched. Shame on all of you who doubted the great Miyamoto.
Anyhow, we have two weeks for our break. Since the first week lies right in between Christmas and New Year’s I decided to not do any of the work I needed to get done. Rather, I would get down to work during the second week. As it turns out, it’s Tuesday today, so I have now spent two days trying to get started on my lab, but failing. My faithful distractions (Zelda and the Internet) have proved quite potent.
I have quite a bit I wanted to get done actually. First, I have to finish my lab. That shouldn’t be that hard, since it’s exactly the same lab as one we did last year. Secondly, I need to start harvesting information for that chem ISU. And lastly, I want to get some proofs done so that I won’t get owned on that algeo test coming up. Some other things that I have to worry about are those grad photos, which happen the second day we get back and Waterloo’s admission information form.
Actually, I have my lab open right now. All I really have to do is make a new graph and copy my last lab. Of course, graphs are incredibly time consuming and bloody pointless. It doesn’t help that we did this lab last year. We all know what happens before we do the lab and if we didn’t last year, we sure as hell do this time around.
Some other things that I’ve been doing are web related. There is the church website that we’ve finally started redesigning. Then there’s this site, with a little readjustment. For instance, you’ll note that my gallery is gone, as is the top menu. It got annoying. My gallery was sucking up huge amounts of bandwidth, so I decided to try out flickr. Also, my links have been replaced with del.icio.us and I’ve moved my navigation to the side there with little blurbs. I’ve also replaced my grat.uito.us wishlist with a ThinkGeek and Amazon one. Feel free to buy me something to make me happy.
Anyway, I really don’t like to have work over the break. The sense of urgency that compels you to do work is gone. Time to take another shot at this stupid conservation of energy lab.

twilight princess… you must get twilight princess :P
Rumour of the day says Twilight Princess may hit Revolution. It might be an entire year before we see Twilight Princess anyway.
