As I’ve been reading more and more of the Globe and Mail’s reader comments on various articles (on Lebanon in particular recently), I’ve come to the conclusion that the average conservative tends to believe that Stephen Harper (and George W. Bush in the States) is infalliable.

On Lebanon

This whole conflict between Lebanon and Israel has gotten me thinking lately about situation in the Middle East, which lead to a whole lot of things regarding the history of the State of Israel and the Palestinians and such.

Let’s begin with Lebanon and Israel right now. Hezbollah kidnaps Israeli soldiers, hoping to exchange them for the release of political prisoners, and Israel responds by immediately blowing up the entire country. Basically. They destroy pretty much any way for anyone in the country to get out and take out power and communications. Hezbollah responds by firing rockets into Israel, lather, rinse, repeat.

There are some interesting questions that arise from this situation. (more…)

Futbol 2006

I am probably the least sports minded person one can find. And yet, there’s something about the World Cup that seems to compel me to at least follow along when it arrives every four years, even if I don’t watch all of the games. Happy GST Day

Happy Canada Day retroactively. I spent the day celebrating how great Canada is by running around places I’ve never been to, ever, in Toronto with my friends. The moral of the story is to always stop and read the signs to where you’re going. Sadly, you guys suck because you left at the part of Project Tdot where you didn’t have to run. (more…)
