Round 3

So I hear that 9rules is finally having their third round of submissions coming around next Monday. 9rules is a network of sites with really awesome content covering a wide range of topics, from personal sites or web design to cartooning or marketing. I enjoy reading and going through a lot of 9rules sites and a few of them are daily reads for me. And ever since I discovered Bombast, I’ve wondered if my lovely site could ever make it in.

So yes, I’m going to give it a shot and submit my site. Anyone think my writing is good enough to be showcased among site of the highest quality across the Internets or am I having delusions of grandeur?

Master of Statistics

Now that my site has grown, I think it’s time to have a look at the statistics again. In the months past, much has changed on my site. I started commenting on other peoples’ blogs. By that I mean people that I don’t know, like on hicksdesign, Garrett Dimon, or SonSpring. That helps because my comment has a link back to my site. The other thing that changed is that my site is getting a lot more hits from search engines now that it’s on the radar at Google. Continue reading

Classy Newness

I have spent the past few days adding more newness to my site. First up is another alternate style, which I have dubbed “Classy Print.” Basically, it’s serif fonts all over the place. Times and Georgia explosion!! Also, while messing around with stylesheets, I managed to fix the problems with the metadata and comment form column in the single post view. The result is the effect known as ‘elastic.’ Continue reading

Black is Back

For all of you non-IE users, I have completed an alternate stylesheet just for you. It is called “sleek” after the iPod nano’s two colours: signature white (my default stylesheet) and sleek black. How to use this dark stylesheet? If you’re in Firefox, you can switch by using View > Page Style > sleek. If you want to switch back, the same, just choose signature standard. I’m pretty sure Mozilla and Opera are like that too.

Anyway, I decided that I may as well fix up a few things while I was messing around with stylesheets. I made the site so that the columns would grow or shrink with the text size. I hear it’s called elastic and it’s the cool thing to do. I haven’t been able to do this on individual pages, so don’t let that disappoint you if that’s what you’ve always wanted to do with my individual post pages.

For some reason, Opera doesn’t like to display the header image. It loads, then it disappears. Suggestions?
