Some thoughts on the last few shows I can bear to take a look at.
Munto TV
Sora wo Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai has a ridiculously long name in Japanese which is not any better in English: The World Reflected in the Eyes of a Girl Looking Up at the Heavens. So far, it’s not very gripping. So far, we have some generic magical kingdom in conflict over some generic magical resource and the key to saving everyone is a generic special girl. The worst thing about this show is that KyoAni could have been working on something that people actually wanted instead of this.
White Album
I’m a bit late to the party, but I figured I’d might as well have a look. There doesn’t seem to be anything obnoxiously bad. The text reminded me of ef, although it wasn’t as pervasive as I thought it would be. The conversations tended to ramble on and weren’t very interesting, but everything else seemed kind of realistic. The setting makes it feel like RideBack, but without anything cool happening.
Asu no Yoichi
I saw about half of this when my housemate was watching it while I was trying to procrastinate. Basically, HA HA HA NO. And based on this test of my ability to judge shows without watching them, I’m pretty sure I won’t enjoy Akikan and Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo either.
