Rainbow Live is something that I put on my list of things to get into during my Aikatsu discovery phase. The appearance of male counterparts to the main characters and having their own subplot was a big plus. And then everything changed: the guys were getting a movie of their own. Rainbow Live plans moved up for me, the movie came out in Japan, and for a while it was difficult to read through tweets without finding one that evoked the EZ DO DANCE EZ DO DANCE chanting reflex. Overall, the movie was way too short with a lot of flashbacks, but that almost made it more maddeningly tantalizing, because the promise of more was so great. We’ll see how the next movie goes.
